With the upcoming celebration of the 60th birthday of the Austin Healey Sprite a lot of enthusiasts are expected to attend the event on May 12th! One of the most famous vedettes who set many victories on his name with the Austin Healey Sprite is John Sprinzel. He won a number of races in an Austin Healey Sprite and he played a dominant role in the further development of this car. Among others he won
– the British Rally Championship in 1959
– the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1960
– 2nd place overall in both the Liège-Rome-Liège and RAC rallies in 1960

We regret that John cannot attend the event on may 12th, but he did send the following message instead:

“With all this 60th birthday Sprite Stuff, I have been a bit busy doing interviews and stories to several Healey Clubs, and I thought I would just say “Hello” to you and the Museum enthusiasts. I hear such good things about your splendid efforts, and just regret that I am too old and you are so far away, that I cannot get over to see it for myself. But don’t think you are forgotten and I wish you all success for the future.
Best wishes

John Sprinzel”

Several models are real specials uniquely produced for this display.
